We had the most charming stay at this hotel! The room may have been small, but it had all the amenities we needed, including a reasonably priced mini bar and free wi-fi. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The breakfast in the cozy dining area was absolutely delicious. The hotel's location, with a restaurant and beirgarten across the street and a paved nature trail nearby, added to its charm. we highly recommend this hotel for those seeking a quaint and charming experience.

I stayed at Gastgeb for a weekend getaway and it was a delightful experience. The hotel has maintained its traditional German style over the years, creating an authentic and cozy atmosphere. The staff was incredibly kind and provided excellent service. The location, although slightly outside of the city center, offers the advantage of a peaceful and charming neighborhood surrounded by a forest, good restaurants, and a small shopping area. The highlight of my stay was definitely the amazing breakfast - it felt like being spoiled by family with a wide selection of delicious food served in a beautiful style.

I was thrilled to have free Wi-Fi access, because who doesn't want to scroll through social media all day in a quaint hotel? Plus, the parking was so convenient, I could park and forget about my car for days.
Oh, I was so disappointed that there wasn't an exhibition grounds playground. How am I supposed to show off my swings and slides skills?

Our stay at Hotel Gastgeb was absolutely delightful. From the moment we stepped foot into the charming German-style hotel, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms, though on the smaller side, were cozy and well-appointed, complete with modern amenities like a TV, mini bar, and hair dryer. The cleanliness of the rooms was impeccable. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the excellent breakfast served in the cozy dining area. The wide variety of options and the attention to presentation made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Additionally, the location of the hotel, nestled in a quiet and picturesque district, was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city center. We loved exploring the nearby forest and discovering the charming shops and restaurants in the area. Though there were a few minor drawbacks, such as the outdated bathroom and the lack of charging facilities at the bedside, these were outweighed by the overall positive experience. We highly recommend Hotel Gastgeb for anyone looking for a quaint and charming stay in Essen. we had a wonderful time and would definitely return in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at this cozy hotel. The dining area, situated by the river, was absolutely charming. The room was clean and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. The location, surrounded by a park with fully grown trees, provided a tranquil atmosphere. We also enjoyed the beautiful view of the garden from our room.
The hotel rooms could use some updating, especially the bathroom, which felt outdated.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi access, which was a lifesaver for someone like me who needs to stay connected at all times. It was as reliable as having your favorite cable TV show on demand!
Limited charging facilities near the bedsides for mobile phones.
